Your 2030 kindergarten class has already been born.

Version 2.1 Now covering 6th-grade and 9th-grade entry as well as kindergarten.

The children who will start kindergarten in fall 2030 were born in 2024 and 2025, and their number is already in the public record, county by county. The children who will enter 6th grade or 9th grade through fall 2030 are already living in your county — the Census Bureau estimates how many, by age.

Alongside them sits a number most enrollment conversations never touch: how many people are arriving in or leaving your market each year, and what the households here earn. Sometimes the two point the same way. Sometimes they split. Reading them as a pair is what tells you what your market is doing — and which pair you get varies enormously from one county to the next.

Pick your county, then pick the grade most of your new students enter. Every figure comes from official public records. You don't need to be a data expert to bring this picture to your leadership team.
